ENJOY THE FLEXIBILITY TO COOK OR SAVOUR LOCAL ALPINE CUISINE

The best thing about a self-catered ski chalet is you have the flexibility to cook your favourite meals or you can pop out for dinner. The mountains are full of amazing restaurants so you eat out on the slopes or try delicious French alpine cuisine in the village. The restaurants in the Portes du Soleil offer incredible hearty mountain dishes. Look out for the beautiful locally-made cheeses, you will not be disappointed!

SELF-CATERED SKI CHALETS ARE PERFECT FOR GROUPS

Self-catered chalets really enhance the ski holiday experience because you can even book the entire chalet for your group. If you are travelling in a smaller group then you can share the ski chalet with your other friends or family. Whatever you choose, self-catered chalets are renowned for their cosy, social and easy-going environment. They provide a great way to spend time with old friends or new. COOK YOUR FAVOURITE DINNERS EACH NIGHT

If you’re driving over to the chalet then take advantage of the French supermarkets and stock up on all your favourite ingredients. The chalet’s kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker and slow cooker. For breakfast you can pop down to the local boulangerie for freshly baked pastries and pick up a baguette for lunch. Put the slow cooker on before you head out skiing then you can enjoy a delicious stew when you return! The majority of the local restaurants serve traditional Savoyarde cuisine. You can also find international and European dishes. During the ski season, it’s best to book restaurants in advance. From Chalet la Fontaine, it’s a short 5-10 min walk into the village to eat at one of the restaurants.

DISCOVER THE PORTES DU SOLEIL

If you want quick access to the Portes du Soleil, Chalet la Fontaine is the perfect choice. It is located just 90 mins drive from Geneva Airport. The Portes du Soleil covers 650km of ski runs which link 12 different resorts across France and the French-Swiss border.

The chalet is located opposite the bus stop. You can access the Gabelou and Portes du Soleil ski lifts quickly, with minimum fuss. The village shops and restaurants are within a 5-10 minutes walk of the chalet. During heavy snow, it’s possible to ski back to the chalet.
